Part Three

And, by the way, another Briggensian wedding took place last September when Matthew Mosey was married to Claire Howitt; as Matthew says, another success for BSF! Matthew graduated from Loughborough Univ. in 1996 and is now residing in sunny Clapham. After a brief encounter with the leisure industry he is now working in Urban Regeneration and is currently the Programme Manager at the Greenwich Development Agency. Matthew says that things are a little hectic in Greenwich at the moment and a little note to the cynics - the Dome is going to be the most successful 'white elephant' this country has ever seen and if you don't believe him go and see for yourself. Thank you Matthew and we will be in touch with you on: [email protected].

Having a break before I start on an e-mail from Marc Ferraby which is another whole page long!! Marc found the website after a quick search on 'Sir John Nelthorpe' and again says what an excellent job has been done. Keep up the good work he says so that he can keep in touch with all his old friends and at the same time keep in touch with what the school is doing. Since leaving SJN in'88 he went to NLCT to do a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering and then on to Newcastle Polytechnic (now University of Northumbria) to get his HND in Electrical/Electronic Eng. During the second year Summer holidays Marc spent the entire time in N. America working on a camp through the BUNAC program and then travelling alone across the country. Upon his return for his final year he met an American girl that he later followed back to America and soon thereafter married in '93. Marc decided that engineering was not his calling after all and moved into the computer field. As he had failed computing at SJNS this will probably come as a shock to his former teachers. Anyway he started by working for Goebel, the German manufacturer of M.I. Hummel figurines and after three years he moved on to a larger 'Shop' and now he is head of the IT department at a private company that publishes medical journals in print across the world as well as on the 'Net.

He is in the midst of attaining his MCSE. This is being undertaken in his spare time and because there is a lack of that Marc says it is a slow process! In '97 they started their family and have one son Liam so far. Marc is amazed what you can learn from spending time with a child. It has started to bring back his own childhood memories and hence his search for his old school just to see if they had a presence on the Web and he is so pleased to see we do. Marc's parents still live in Wrawby and his Mum still works at the Riverside Surgery and they usually go over to visit at least once a year. Marc's brother Ian who left SJNS a couple of years later, has just returned to Brigg from Birmingham. He has worked a few trades and now works for a local firm in the construction industry. He still plays football for local teams and will most likely be found either on the field playing or in town celebrating. At the time of e-mailing Marc had just made contact with Chris Hedley. He knew he had an AOL account but was unable to find him until he checked the Briggensians contact list (another great idea). Marc was also pleased to see mention of other people he knew such as Jon Taylor (congratulations on the award!) and hopefully he will be able to stop by the school and have a look around to see how things have changed. People can e-mail Marc at: [email protected].

Someone is going to say sooner than later where are all the messages from the 'old' girls; well we do have a few and to end we are going to start with a Louise Robinson (not the 1999 leaver but a young lady who was at school in BSF between 1984-'86 and she says that she remembers being part of the very first TWAG Week and look how well you set the standard for the years that have followed! Louise can be found at: [email protected].

Sally Braithwaite (now Sally Johnson 1980-85) sent us a note saying 'Wow, what a website!' she was so pleased to see so many people getting in contact .It shows what a great feeling of belonging we had during our school days. Since leaving school Sally has had a career in retail management with Richards and Mark One all over the place. She is now settled in Horley, Surrey just near Gatwick, married to Mark and they have two children, Kirsten (5) and Caine (2). They also have a dog, Holly and two rabbits, Barbie and Sindy. They have recently bought an estate car which finishes off their average family status! Mum and Dad are still in Brigg and they make it home occasionally. For those who remember Mrs Pam Braithwaite Sally says she is fine and currently working with young people fighting substance abuse. Sally would love to hear from any old friends and hopes to hear from you soon!! Her address is [email protected]

Again another very satisfied customer Faye Curtis who left BSF in 1993 says 'Hello' and 'This web site is excellent!' Faye is at present working in the Personal Audio Product Marketing Dept. of Sony UK after graduating from the City Univ. in London in 1997. She is back in Brigg regularly so it is an excellent way to stay io touch. E-mail Faye at : [email protected].

Sam Bloomfield who left last year ('99) has gone to study Geography at Manchester Metropolitan Univ. and she will be in contact again when she has been there for a little while but asks to be included on the e-mail address list. Take care Sam and we will be in touch on : [email protected]. uk

Sorry folks this has to be the last of the e-mails although I am sure that Jim F. will have another thick envelope full for me when I next see him but again I will say on your behalf another big thank you to him.

Let's end on a funny note. I don't know who this young lady is but I shall find out soon when I email her myself. Her name is 'Leslie' (also called Claire) and she says 'Hi I was just checking out the website and showing my new friends my English school; we were looking far the Comenius project ya know the ones that we wrote ourselves; how do we find it via this websitel? Or can't u???? Mr Flewker you will be happy to know that I am gonna do German here...I gotta go now bye, Claire'. Claire (Darley - webmaster's note) can be contacted through her friend on : [email protected] and the e-mail came from Canada. Good Luck everyone and 'Best Wishes' to you all.
