Thanks to the daughter of the late David Riggall (see the 2006 Newsletter), we are publishing his lively and fascinating memoir of ten years as a Boarder at Brigg Grammar School (1921-1931). The first three parts are online now - click here.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Mike Spencer, almost all back numbers of the "Briggensian" school magazine from December 1927 to its final issue in December 1959 will soon be available via our Library Page.
Published at the end of every Term, "The Briggensian" contained reports of School life (Houses, Sports, Clubs and Societies), literary efforts and news of Old Boys, and was written and edited by Sixth Formers.
Mike has scanned each and every one - with the exception of two lost issues, March/April 1940 and July 1943, so if you have one of these, please let Mike know!. He has turned them into searchable Adobe Reader documents. There is a link for downloading the free Adobe Reader program if you don't have it.
There is already thirty years' worth of these unique historic records available for download, and more will be joining them soon.

Spotted (and heard) in the band at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre's seasonal Musical production, "Promises, Promises" with score by Burt Bacharach, based on the film and play "The Apartment" by Neil Simon: Briggensian and professional trumpet player Adam Linsley.
The date (THE date of the year, of course) is Saturday, 18th March 2006 and the guest speaker will be Professor A J (Sandy) Trees, (1957-1964) who heads Veterinary Parasitology at the School of Tropical Medicine at Liverpool University and is also Dean of the School of Veterinary Science. Former Grammar School languages teacher, hockey player and Deputy Head Ray Barker has died in Devon at the age of 87. Peter Thompson has sent in a report and appreciation.
